Titanium grade 1 is a technically pure material (3,7025/UNS R504007) with favourable mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance. Pure Titanium is highly resistant to salt water and against several corrosive media (chlorine gas, nitric acid etc). Due to the high chemical affinity of Titanium, a stable and persistent protective oxide layer is built on the surface when it reacts with oxygen.
Titanium grade 1 stands out with a low specific weight at favourable mechanical properties. Generally, it is mostly needed in application areas with high requirements for deformability. Among classical applications are plate heat exchangers or explosion cladding for tube-plates, cladded heads or cladded jacket sheets. There is a multitude of Titanium grade 1 profile shapes which we keep in stock or are able to deliver tailor-made based on your requirements.

Heat treatment of Titanium grade 1 requires a protective gas atmosphere or a vacuum atmosphere caused by Titanium’s high affinity to absorb oxygen and therefore to become brittle.
